Correct that nobody kneeled, but I saw a few other subtle gestures of disrespect like covering one’s turned-aside face with the hands during the anthem; and another, rocking rhythmically back and forth to the groovy strains of The Star Spangled Banner.
They ALWAYS rock around too much. Always have. Trying to keep themselves loose.
I think there is lots of disrespect on the sidelines, as they’re too into doing their macho game to even pause for a minute in solemn reverence.
This is not meant to be hateful to the country, but it’s selfish and careless, and they have not been taught proper reverence. Something I also worry about with church - focus on the prayer, not your friend over there, and bow in silence. This is how the younger generations have been allowed to behave.
