So, some rabid Republican hating Virginian and a couple of friends or family members made a pact to kill a train load of Republicans or die trying after receiving a message they decoded with their Little Orphan Annie decoder telling them when to expect the train to reach a crossing known to have periodically malfunctioning crossing gates.

Sorry, but if a professional wanted some of the passengers dead or even wanted to "send them a message" they'd have done one Hell of a lot better job.

Initial report had it being a dump truck.
Of course with all the PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS it wouldn’t surprise me they don’t know the difference.

Also that is a fairly rural area so kind of far to ride as jumpers...Hell, they make firemen ride inside these days.

I am and can be as cynical as most BUT sometimes an accident is an accident....A lot of those crossings in the countryside are high and a lot of them have warnings for lowboys and low frame vehicles...This should NOT have been the case here BUT he (driver) may not have hit the crossing right and got hung up????

The garbage truck was trying to cross the tracks on Lanetown Road. I got the location from this description:

"Vickie Gresge, a resident of the Grayrock neighborhood where the crash occurred, said she heard the jarring sound — “like a big metal crash; very, very heavy” — and looked out the window to see a cloud of dust near the tracks. She rushed up Lanetown Road, took in the trash strewn about the tracks, then spotted the people emerging from the train."

If you look at the map of Crozet, you see the railroad tracks taking a curved course towards that crossing. Along that route are enough trees to obscure any view of the crossing. The train engineer had no view of the crossing in time to stop the train.

I listened to audio from one of the Reps that was on the Train. He says the driver of the truck walked away “UN-Scythed”. The MSM originally reported he was killed. They had to correct that. But I still have not heard them say that the driver was unhurt. The only way that could be is if he jumped out of the Truck before the collision. Why was he the only one to get out. Very strange.

The people were apparently shopping and possibly went the wrong way when they left the store.

This video shows evidence that they were parked on the hill before taking off and running down the hill and into the drainage ditch.

Were they sitting there doing drugs, then got scared and took off the wrong way ?

I doubt the part about just being shoppers who went the wrong way in the parking lot.

If you drive a truck for a living in that area, chances are you would be familiar with the train schedules. After a few years, I don’t see how any truck driver would not know, at least approximately, when the trains are coming through.

We used to live in house with a railroad track not far behind us. We KNEW when that train was rolling through —everyday. Almost to the minute. Those truck drivers had to know as well.

Maybe there was a mechanical malfunction that stopped the truck. Its possible I suppose, but I haven’t seen any trash trucks conk out on the road lately. They need reliable trucks to to make the rounds to make money. Just saying.
