popular but unsustainable policies;

He has it backwards. Populism will turn around the unsustainable tide of globalism. Populism is patriotism. On the current track the USA will be a de-industrialized Brazilian type 3rd world currupticracy in a very short time. Barring a military coup d'etat

Exactly: it is the globalist policies pushed by the elites that are both anti-democratic and unsustainable in the sense that those policies are causing significant pluralities and even majorities to buck their elites.

What can be more anti-democratic that the WTO and other trade treaties that pass control of economically significant portions of the economy to unelected and often foreign bureaucrats? Not to mention the EU Commission, whose unelected members charge Poland's elected government with embracing "anti-European" un-democratic values.

It is the suffocating and corrupt "Grosse Koalition" in Germany that is pauperizing the German working and middle classes and flooding the country with ignorant, violent foreigners, driving millions of voters into the waiting arms of "extremist" parties that have the temerity to insist that Germany remain, well, German.

In every Western country, it is the globalist attempt to replace democracy with a corrupt, unaccountable administrative despotism that is creating political instability.
