I can't help letting worldview enter into my opinion on this one. I know what "Philadelphia Freedom" is about (the militant homosexual & feminist movements), and even though I like the song, I *don't* like it--if that makes sense.
I thought it was about a tennis team!
Which was disappointing enough - on the face of it it’s patriotic! LOL
I know what you mean about love/hate relation with songs. “American Woman” here is the prime example - we had posts complaining about it, but the music is what counts, and it won big time. I know it’s about how horrible we Americans are (and how jealous Canadians are), but it’s still pretty good sounding, at least compared to the competition.
