Doesn’t POTUS determine what functions are “essential” and who needs to remain on the job? Only this time don’t weaponize the shutdown to cause maximum civilian misery like Obummer did.
I think POTUS should issue the list of “essential” government functions then declare, in the same speech, that non-essentials will not be allowed back to work, no back pay except for the military and all non-essential government functions will close because ... well ... non-essential. The dems may demand back pay but I don’t think it will happen if da boss won’t sign.
