10%. Haha. 45-65% easily. DOD employees are feeding the slow return on taxpayers dollars. Sorry but true. I could cut 35-75% based on requirements alone. Give me a reqiuirement and hold me only to that requirement without all the mafias and I can get capability out better and faster much cheaper. I’m a DOD developer not a profit motivated contractor. Nothing wrong with them, because we all want the best but damn there is a bunch of BS illities in DOD.

True, but a good number of the DoD civilian employees are at least deploying, providing some service to the soldiers in the field.

Look at some place like EPA or Department of Education.

Not one single position in either of those departments actually cleaning up a mess or teaching a child. It is ALL a bureaucracy and could disappear tomorrow and leave not a ripple.

What section of government are you familiar with? I could have cut 20% from the area(s) I worked in but some areas (usually the ones that produce something worthwhile) are not as well-padded.

Agree MANY could be cut w/o being noticed to Joe Q.....
