It is not unusual for a single firearm aficionado to have 50,000 rounds of ammunition. Private gun owners in the United States could easily possess a 100 billion rounds of ammunition or more.

100 billion rounds? What? I have some 5.56 to get rid of but it isn't even anything approaching 50k rounds.

I can't imagine how I'd even store 100 billion rounds. If I spent every waking hour of the rest of my life burning that off and giving it away, I have no idea how I could go through that.
