When my ancestors arrived in Texas in the 1850s, they had to prove they had purchased land here and would be able to take care of themselves. That was an entirely different kind of immigration than the monstrous immigrant welfare system we have today that costs US taxpayers tens of billions a year. Trump’s Wall will pay for itself the year after it is built.

"But if they arrive with attitudes a world away from our own – accustomed to dependency on government, accustomed to having one’s job assigned by government, accustomed to disobeying the law because life is all about what you can get away with, so accustomed to poverty that miserable free welfare-state life is a welcome step up, so they’re satisfied with it and never work harder to improve their lot – then the work of assimilation will indeed be a challenging endeavor, taking years of effort and the support of our society.

Accustomed or expecting dependency on government? There is a faction that gains power by paying for these immigrants with tax money and debt.

Later, the author cites the problems created by the many languages. I will add that we need to bring English as the official language of our government.

“And anything that contributes to weakening those liberties is not only a crime against our citizens today, it is treason against the millions of courageous patriots who risked everything – their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor – to win us the opportunity to enjoy this nation, this City on a Hill, as Americans today. “

AMEN! to that statement.

immigrants tend to be

This stereotyping of immigrants is a major flaw in Schafly's paper, in and many discussions of immigrants. I could use my mom's ancestors as an 17th-to 19th Century example. But let's use a more recent example of Mexican immigrants.

There are at least 3 distinct types of Mexican immigrants: PAN, PRD and PRI.

PAN immigrants can best be understood by watching the accurate Hollywood History movie FOR GREATER GLORY aka CRISTIADA starring Andy Garcia. This movie portrays how the Marxists running Mexico tried genocide of devout Catholics and libertarians. It tells how Republican Presidents in the 1920s gave WMDs and support to the Marxist genocide of Catholics. PAN voters tend to be extremely capitalist, pro-small business, pro-life, pro-gun to defend themselves against Marxist governments. Two of the last 3 Mexican Presidents are PAN. Fox was very much a libertarian leaning capitalist. Calderon was very much a pro-life, law-n-order social conservative.

Mexican immigrants prior to FOX being elected were primarily PAN. They were fleeing the oppression of the PRI politicians and seeking a place to be a capitalist.

So why aren't they Republican in the US? They see the Republican Party as extremely unfriendly. It brings back memories of the Republicans that supported their genocide in the 1920s. They open small businesses from supermercados and taquerias to construction and landscaping companies. They receive constant harassment from Republican officials in local government. Mexicans in the US have the best infant mortality rate and the best longevity rate of any demographic group in the US. So they must be doing something right. But they feel that they are constantly harassed by the Republican building inspector, health inspector, zoning commission ... and of course, the police.

The harassment in Democrat cities is different than in Republican suburbs. The Democrat cities just want a bribe. The Democrat health inspector couldn't care less about the rats and roaches. They are just an excuse to get a bribe. PAN Mexicans understand this. Big city Democrats are exactly like PRI in Mexico. The parasite does not want to put the host out of business. It just wants its mordita ... little bite.

But the Republican suburbs don't want the bribe. They seem to want to put the Mexican business out of business. That is worse than paying the mordita.

PAN voters disagree with the Democrats on issues and feel unwanted by the Republicans. The result is that a high percentage of US citizens of Mexican heritage do not vote. They feel like they have nobody to vote for.

PRI immigration to the US started to increase when Clinton's Treasury Secretary Rubin destroyed the Mexican peso (for their own good, of course) and sent the Mexican Maquiladoras to Asia. That left Mexican factory workers with no job. So they came to the US in the late Clinton and Bush years. Then Obama was elected and the PRI migration followed. Being more recent immigrants, less of them are citizens and voters. They are Chicago Democrats. They are not far left. They are not ideologues. They accept their reality that government is corrupt and they are part of that corruption. They pay the bribes and tolerate the harassment. They are fatalistic about it.

PRD are the third type of Mexicans from a political perspective. They are ideologically far left, Occupy Wall Street, ANTIFA, etc. They see PRI as sellouts of the revolution. In their opinion, the Marxists of the 1920s should have wiped out more Catholics and libertarians when they had the chance. They are smaller in number, but far louder, than the PAN and PRD voices. PRD dominates Mexican visibility in academia and the media. (What else is new?)

Unfortunately, many conservatives see the loud PRD visibility and think that they speak for all (or most) Mexicans in the US. They don't. They pretend to speak for others. But that is fake news.

Find the DVD FOR GREATER GLORY aka CRISTIADA starring Andy Garcia and Eva Longoria and understand that there are 3 types of Mexicans... from a political perspective.
