"...the fact the President, the chief law enforcement officer of the land, is tied up with a special counsel investigation, and anything he does to try to direct the DOJ in any way shape or form is immediately blasted as obstruction of justice by the full media, and half the Congress.

Notice that POTUS is saying nothing and directing nothing. He's smarter than the average bear. Ha. Even the big deal about firing Comey has died with the latest info about Comey. Remember when the Dims were calling for his impeachment just for that?

"The second biggest impediment is that the Attorney General has foolishly recused himself from being involved in basically any of these investigations of the Rats, leaving the DOJ basically back under the control of the deep state that was there long before Trump and Sessions arrived."

Agree, he went overboard in trying to look neutral. He should have at least stipulated that anything out of any Russian involvement would be within his authority as AG. As said before, I believe Trump and Sessions are playing rope-a-dope.

Again, where is Hillary, Comey, Huma, et al. with the daily reports about corruption coming out? I'm really curious why Huma and the Perve withdrew their public divorce for private settlement. What's that about? Looks to me like everyone is running for cover and lawyering up.

That does indeed seem to be the case, but I'm not of the belief it is necessarily a wise strategy. FR is loaded today with cynical posts about the government's ineptitude when it comes to prosecuting these cases, which indicates momentum being lost, and the statue of limitations are supposedly expiring on many things on a regular basis. I'm still hopeful that Trump will eventually play his cards, and they will be winners, but appearing somewhat helpless on these matters for already a quarter of his term has delivered some damage in the minds of some of his own supporters.

I heard someone say that if they are married, that some discussions can be considered confidential. But I am not a lawyer, much less in that particular district or court.
