If Trump can get illegal immigration under control, the Dreamers are just window dressing.
I’ve supported President Trump on most things. He’s had a good record so far. That doesn’t make him right on everything. And the statement he made is cause for concern. His subsequent tweets and his answer to a reporter’s question mitigate that a bit, but do not entirely alleviate that concern.
If he signs a bill that gives amnesty — especially if he doesn’t get anything in return — he will simply be wrong, and he will be hurting the rule of law and the country, not to mention the Republican Party and the conservative movement.
Hopefully, he won’t do that. But if he does, I look forward to watching people like you twist like a pretzel trying to justify it.
It’s absolutely blind and unconditional on your part. You have shown that. Your attack on even the slightest criticism of the president shows it. You’re one of those people he was talking about with his Fifth Avenue comment.
Are you going to believe Rush, or you lyin’ ears? : )
Absolute reeking bullsh-t. You've clearly missed many of my posts which were highly critical—such as, for example, during the health care debate last spring and summer.
But I'm not going to wax hysterical based on cordial political rhetoric—especially since the President made it clear that the wall was a requirement for any immigration bill.
I'm basing my support—and my optimism—not just on what I saw during over a year of campaigning, but also on the President's sterling track record which he has built over a solid year of actually sitting in the Oval Office.
So it's your skepticism which is unfounded—not my optimism. And I've seen your tepid so-called "support" for President Trump over a year now—second-guessing him at every juncture, and jumping to conclusions on the flimsiest pretext—unless I'm thinking of someone else.
Based on what I've seen—not imagined—from this President throughout his first year of office, I sincerely believe that he won't sell us out on immigration—and I'm basing that on the loyalty and respect he has earned a dozen times over.
Furthermore, I am going to give President Trump the benefit of the doubt—based on his documented history of a year of superb performance.
You can stick with your hysterical negativity all you want, but the accumulated evidence strongly indicates that clear-sighted optimism is what's called for.
There's plenty of negativity emanating from the Left—and the #NeverTrump crowd—more than enough to compensate for any deficit in criticism which comes from the President's supposed supporters...
Looks like you were completely, totally and absolutely wrong.

Trump played them beautifully. By telling them he would sign anything they put on his desk they gleefully marched headlong into a propeller blade. That's what I call winning.
When can we expect your apology?

That is what he said. He then clarified it (the way politicians do.) I like the “clarified” position better, but I would remind you of the quotes I cited, which are from around the time he started to run for president.
He didn’t “clarify” shit. He sprung his trap. You just can’t admit you’re a wimp and he’s not.
I’m glad he did not mean what he said.
I had a feeling he was gaslighting the open borders crew so they would bring out an amnesty bill.
