Just saw it. Not worth the price. Also very stupid WWII bomber pilot talk was ridiculous as we’re the ridiculous weapons. No moral lessons. Totally nasty.
My wife is a hard-core sci-fi fan, especially when it comes to Star Trek and Star Wars. I could not care less about Star Wars but I did go see the movie in a theater with her...because you make sacrifices for the spouse.
She thoroughly disliked the new Star Wars. Days after the movie she was still processing everything and kept coming up with new reasons why the plot and characters were poorly put together. Among the many things she disliked, she hated Purple Hair woman (what’s her character’s name?) and the way Rey could become a Jedi without any training at all. Luke spent a long time becoming a Jedi master but Rey could do it by meditating on a rock for a half hour?
The Jedi book-burning scene and underlying theme—to me—was an overt message that the Bible is dead and people don’t need to hold to religious traditions; a theme often repeated in faithless modern philosophies.
Modern Jesus by Portugal the Man:
“Don’t pray for us
We don’t need no modern Jesus
To roll with us
The only rule we need is never
Giving up
The only faith we have is faith in us.”
Yes, Feminism and other identity politics wrote a lot of the story in The Last Jedi. The only truly good, truly not impotent, truly not mystic, not “rambo”, not duffus male is a “black” male. All the “white” males are “imperfect”, bumbling, bad, or insignificant characters, The women are 100% of the “stars” of the movie.
From a purely political view it was disaster. With the degree to which it felt the need to lift up women and put down men it took an unrealistic, unnatural view of humanity.
good point. Heck, Anakin had to leave his mom and spend all his growing up years to training under Obi Wan to become a jedi.
such crap TLJ was.
Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor were good, but those movies were from another time.

My favorite part was VEGAN CHEWY. Those huge canines are obviously meant to tear lichen off the island rocks and crack open hardened soy seed coats.
The little island chickens are not to be eaten! Please go buy our new Disney Plush Island Chicken with googly eyes at Toys-r-Us.
The amazing thing to watch now is that as fans have rebelled against this crap of a movie, the feminists, social justice warriors, and leftists are trying to shut them up, calling them crybabys or worse. How DARE they not accept the PC New Order!!
The arts have a distinct role in any culture, in that they not only reflect what we value, but they celebrate what we hope to be. This horrible movie is but a symptom of a much larger disease: leftists in our culture Want to eradicate western civilization and God.
And to anyone who thinks Im being melodramatic, think for yourself what Christ represents. Self-sacrifice. Authority. The ultimate Father. The perfect man. A Hero.
well put!
Besides being PC-preachy, The Last Jedi was boring. I dozed off a couple times. The last Star Wars film I pay money to see.
i saw it in Mexico in Spanish and I was wondering if it was because I didn’t understand it well or of it was really boring.
Saw Driver in the Channing Tatum caper movie “Logan Lucky” - Thought he did fine and the movie was overall OK (and better than TLJ).
True. And this is nothing new. Advertisers have been making commercials for years that depict white men and fathers as bumbling, stupid, and evil.
Of all the YouTube rants against The Last Jedi - this one by a British man is by far the best and most comprehensive. He does use some bad language in spots, but his analysis is dead on.
Gender Wars: The Last Snowflake
Also, it is obvious by now that Mark Hamill was trying to warn us all how Disney, Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams; and Rian Johnson sabotaged and ruined Star Wars. Hamill flat out told people and the fans.
All 50+ times Mark Hamill tried to subtly warn us about last jedi/force awakens and bashed Disney
Bump for later ...
