A Pennsylvania woman said she recently opened a power bill showing she owed more to her local power provider than the gross domestic product of most of the world’s nations.
According to the Erie Times-News, Mary Horomanski, she was shocked to see an outstanding balance of more than $284 billion with a monthly payment of nearly $30,000 due immediately.

That’s why you should ALWAYs allow the utility to suck the money directly out of your checking account, so you aren’t faced with this kind of sticker shock. This actually builds a good case for NOT allowing anyone to debit your account directly on a monthly basis to pay your bills.
I wouldn't trust them to give it back without a fight and in the meantime, you're screwed when all your other checks and payments start bouncing and you're hit with fees for it.
