I'm so very glad you liked it. I've always been terrified of bears. That story didn't help. If you enjoyed the writing, there's two others of grandfather's that I strongly recommend:
The gunfight in the bottom of the silver mine
The death of an Alaskan miner that they all loved while grandfather was prospecting there for gold
