Alabamas recent hotly contested special U.S. Senate election was marred by considerable ballot confusion caused by the states straight party voting ballot which allowed voters two ways to vote for the two candidates.

Welcome to Free Republic.

Most don’t excerpt their own articles to drive traffic from a busy website (Free Republic) to their own website or article. Do you own your own article? Why did you excerpt it?

Pffht?
That is the way I look at it
Lets move on and win 10 seats next year
Forget Moore, he pulled a Hillary and believed he was entitled to win so he took a vacation on the last few days. Screw that, we don’t need that.
By the way, I didn’t click your link and won’t in the future unless you post your entire article.
If you do that, and your article is worthy, I’ll give you the click after I read it. That’s SOP around here.
Let it go.
After Tax Reform, there will be no more legislative wins until after 2018.
Sorry. Republicans have to lose.
Republicans will lose.
Only way to send a message to McConnell et al.
Forget it. Doug Jones is in—and he’ll win in ‘20 and ‘26 as well.
Where are the Ballot Pictures??
FAKE ELECTIONS have no Ballot Pictures.
So someone is saying Moore voters are stupid and easily confused?
“Lets move on and win 10 seats next year”
Good luck.
Why should McConnell be given any more seats.
He needs to go and the only way to to make Reoublicans lose.
It didn’t work for Algore, and it won’t work for Judge Moore.
What utter load of crap. The Republican establishment and Mitch McConnell are solely to blame for losing they seat. They undermined Mo Brooks in the primary, piled on Moore, denied him funding and encouraged a write-in vote.
The race was sabotaged by the establishment, probably down to the dirt the was dug up about Moore.
Welcome to FR. Did you belong prior to today?
The Alabama ballot appears to have BOTH a straight ticket option AND the option of voting candidate by candidate.
The question is: did a lot of people check straight-ticket and also voted for a candidate other than of that party, in the U.S. Senate race. For example: voted straight Republican AND voted for Jones or wrote-in a name for U.S. Senator.
There are at least two facts that have to be ascertained:
1st. How many votes are we talking about?
2nd. Has the resolution of voter intent already been adjudicated (and the state is simply following what is well-established law in counting these votes).
That would kill Trump's agenda and result in the Dems blocking all of his judicial nominees.
Letting Democrats win is a brain dead idea regardless of who proposes it.
I imagine that’s correct.
Spin all you like, end of the day it’s Moore’s responsibility to motivate folks to show up and vote. He was the candidate, and he and Bannon didn’t get it done
