James Comey is tweeting again, this time quoting Robert H. Jackson, a former Attorney General, Supreme Court Justice and the chief prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials after WWII:

James Comey ✔@Comey

“[T]he citizen’s safety lies in the prosecutor . . . who serves the law and not factional purposes” Robert H. Jackson (former Attorney General, Supreme Court Justice, chief Nuremberg prosecutor)

You may be correct, I tend to be a pessimist. I’d be more of an optimist if the DOJ IG had been appointed by Trump and not Obama though.

IMO, this is going to take a full court press by partisan, yes partisan, committees of Congress. Furthermore, I’d be happier if they drew help from investigators not from the FBI or GAO. The investigative community has some excellent investigators packed away in some of the IG offices and in the other departments like the military and the IRS.

I’m not too sure about a bunch of indictments. If
this whole process goes the way we all think it
should then at some point prominent Democrat
politician types will be heard saying, “This has gone
on too long. We need to stop all of this back and
forth and call a truce!”. Whereby some prominent
Republicans will be heard saying, “That’s right! Let’s
let bygones be bygones and we can all have some
ice cream!”.

Memo to Comey: John the Revelator (Giacalone) will bear witness against you...

"James Comey ✔@Comey “[T]he citizen’s safety lies in the prosecutor ." My safety lies in our Constitution; the one that men and woman died to give us and to preserve over the years. And its promise of individual liberty and limited (we the people) government. The Comeys (and other deep staters) of the world who feel they are a notch better than our Constitution, are the real dangers to this (still) great nation.

Well, yes. And the problem with delusional thinking is... it’s delusional.

There is no place to begin with Mr. Comey. No if, then...

He believes the world in Washington is The World. He has escaped the boundaries of civil society, of the rule of law and believes, sincerely, the end justifies the means.

"...The citizen’s safety lies in the prosecutor... "

The FBI are not supposed to be the Prosecutor, only the persecutors (see the Richard Jewell - Atlanta bombing case as an example).

Weasel Comey has a long history of working on getting the Clintoons to slip past Justice.

Could have quoted Chief Russian Prosecutor Lt. Gen. R A Rudenko. Jackson took part in the looting, acquiring two grand pianos for nothing. Quite a paragon of virtue.

Yes. Comey has in his past taken a hard line against those who have been directed by superiors to commit fraud (see MCI/Worldcom).

It looks like when it came time for him to take his own advice, i.e. quit and find another job, he decided the rules didn’t apply to him.

Which pretty much means he betrayed a first principle—the rule of law.

IMHO...the gorilla in the room is....WHO was pressuring him? Nobody asks. We all know whom he worked for at the time. It’s like Benghazi, what did the President know and when did he know it? It was never even asked.

It seems the answer is, “well, we all know Obama had his fingers all over this but there’s no chance anyone will go there so why bother asking?”. Can you imagine if all these things were happening under President Trump? We’re living in a bizzaro world.
