Trump has the right to hire private operatives. He already has, and does.

My concern is "mission creep" - a full blown worldwide organization will have to deal with foreign agents, governments, intelligence agencies. It will gather intel and form alliances that last far beyond Trump's term. That makes me uncomfortable. The next guy will do the same, remember.

He doesn't need private intel. He can set up a think tank as he wishes. The issue is: Intelligence Oversight Law only gets drilled into the worker bees.

You have to resolve what to do with senior executives in the federal government when they ignore or abuse it. The district court in DC should be able to issue a summons based on credible testimony to a federal magistrate.
