Not experienced with diabetes, but lots of medical experience in other areas, so I recommend finding medical fora to discuss with real patients:

Also this is handy when looking for meds:
I used to love wrongdiagnosis.com and even WebMD.com, but they’ve changed enough to be not so useful. I still use WebMD to narrow down aches & pains somewhat, usually in desperation.
Last year my doctor told me my numbers were “pre-diabetic.” So I started reading up on how to reduce my blood sugar. I read books by these doctors: William Davis, Mark Hyman, and Joel Fuhrman. There are some differences among them, but what they all agree on is this: Cut the processed foods, bad carbs, and sugars. No soda pop. Eat real, whole, fresh foods. More vegetables and fruits. More water. That sort of thing. Your blood sugar numbers should come down.
Everyone who is diabetic has their own personal favorite site and set of beliefs on how to beat or at least live with this disease. I too, have my favorite. I was diagnosed as being pre-diabetic. Pre means earlier than: prior to: and before. Which by definition means, I don’t have it. YET!! Still, I wanted to learn about Diabetes causes and cures as I learned how to live with high blood pressure.

How goes your blood sugar battle, FRiend?
I have been diagnosed as a diabetic (type II) for ten years. Best strips for the money are Prodigy strips along with a Prodigy meter ... low cost overall and on Amazon.com you can get 300 strips for $32.00. BTW currently taking Metformin 1000mg 2xdaily along with 2 others currently. As I approach 70 in another 29 days expect to be moving to insulin shots within the next year.
