"Carbon Taxes Increase Global CO2 Emissions. Period."
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument
Patriots are reminded that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate environmental issues.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
In other words, the states would first need to amend the Constitution with an environmental amendment before the feds could deal with pollution and politically correct global warming.
who are more than happy to raise taxes while scoring political points [emphasis added]."
Mr. Morrison got that right.
With all due respect to the family, friends and supporters of the late Pres. Nixon (I believe), he was wrong to sign environment-related bills into law.
That being said, patriots need to finish the job that they started in the 2016 elections by electing Trump president.
More specifically, patriots now need to be making sure that there are plenty of state sovereignty-respecting, Trump-supporting patriot candidates on the 2018 primary ballots and pink-slip career lawmakers by sending patriot candidate lawmakers to D.C. on election day.
Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!
You’re absolutely right. Glad you brought this up!
And for the record I don’t subscribe to anthropogenic climate change anyways. I do find it interesting, however, that even when you buy the left’s premises, their arguments still fail.
