Phenix City is right across the Chattahoochee River from Columbus Georgia.

It was the scene of the true movie “The Phenix City Story”.

One of my earliest memories is of seeing the Panama City New Herald front page.

There was a photo of soldiers burning tables etc. in the street. I asked Mother what it was and she said it was martial law in Phenix City.

I have heard more than once that the criminal gang which was chased out of Phenix City was the same bunch that Buford Pusser was fighting in McNairy County, TN.

They are sometimes referred to as “The Dixie Mafia”.

What? Now I’m really confused. I thought cleaning up voter rolls was racist.

Wasn’t a movie made years ago about that place that was supposedly true about the out of control gambling and corruption?

Phenix City is in Southeast Alabama, on the GA line. It is famous (or infamous) for the 1950’s true story film, “The Phenix City Story”.

A few decades ago, Phenix City was one of the most corrupt towns in the US. The movie focused on the political assassination of the Alabama Attorney General Elect, Albert Patterson.

The economic interests of blacks and illegals are mutually exclusive. There is a volcano bubbling in the black community. Fortunately under trump black jobs are up

We should clearly trust them on the big complicated stuff even though they can’t get the simplest things right.

Had a buddy from Columbus who was a plant manager of a steel fab plant. He grew up working in that plant. He used to say that Phenix City was the nastiest place in the south and he would never go there.

One of the most corrupt little towns back in the 1940s and 1950s. They even made a movie about it.
