Absolutely true. I work for a gaggle of them, and they deeply believe in their superiority. This is what makes POTUS so unique and such a miracle.

I first read ‘The Great Gatsby’ over fifty years ago in high school. This concept has stuck with me ever since. I’ve brushed up against these people all of my life and Fitzgerald nailed it: They are different.
Yeah I think people will miss his actual message:

he’s talking about people who were raised with money: old money, generational money.

In the soviet union the elite was called the Nomenklatura. They had special privileges that the others didn’t have.
In the USA, it’s the politicians and their rich supporters. Clinton and Soros. They make laws for the common herd, and don’t bother obeying them. They are super rich and hate the people whose money they have taken.
