If the name of U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson is not familiar to you, the Florida congresswoman gained props for speaking up about the injustice suffered by the family of Trayvon Martin and more recently Charles Kinsey. After news regarding slain soldier La David Johnson and Wilson confirming President Donald Trump was insensitive to the family surfaced, a trending topic, “#IBelieveFrederica” has cropped up defending her from Trump’s attack that Wilson’s comments were false.
Wilson, who was a family friend of Johnson, was in a limousine with the soldier’s widow when Trump placed a call this week to offer condolences. Johnson’s mother said in a Washington Post story that Trump disrespected her daughter-in-law and the family, which Wilson said she also overheard. Adding to the matter, Trump’s Chief of Staff John Kelly essentially condemned Wilson for telling her version of the story while defending the president in the process.
“The Fake News is going crazy with wacky Congresswoman Wilson(D), who was SECRETLY on a very personal call, and gave a total lie on content!” Trump tweeted Thursday (Oct. 19).
With the White House scrambling to settle this latest political mishap, media figures such as Joy-Ann Reid and Twitter users alike have rallied around Congresswoman Wilson and saying in unison she’s always been an honest straight-shooter.

Yeah, the support is from the usual suspects who love seeing someone stick it to the man.
I think it’s more likely a limousine, on a corrupt congresslady’s dirty money.
Every member of congress gets a free car to use.
Because Free Republic is a forum. Members are free to post whatever they want, and those that are interested will add content. Members are also free to not read threads that don't interest them, and go elsewhere.

General Kelly was spot on about this woman.
Frederica Wilson and honest in the same sentence?
She has been totally dishonest in every aspect concerning Trump from the beginning. She was only embellishing upon her basic premise, and was waxing just a little too enthusiastic in this latest tirade.
Judgment is definitely not her strong suit. She doubled down by attacking John Kelly, who coldly admonished the press corps on the dignity of a Gold Star parent, and the propriety of the call made by the President.
If you take a shot at the king, you had better not miss. Retribution will be swift and ruthless.
