I have heard no explanation as to why civilians were trying to take shotguns out of police vehicles. Was this for their own self defense, or opportunistic types trying to steal a firearm?

“At 36:00 an officer called for more units because he was “being over run” by a large group of citizens trying to steal his and other officers’ patrol cars.

This is the first time I’ve heard of this happening. We should be prepared for it.”

I heard this soon after it was reported. Told my wife I thought people were trying to get the shotguns and go after this bastard. I probably would have done it too.

Totally Agree. I listened to the audio as well and had the same thoughts. This was an excellent response from the police. The police audio from this event could be used as a training aid. Great job!

Police have it tough, and the only thing that they can do is constantly train, train, train for any scenarios. Unfortunately, sometimes they are in reactionary mode which is why its always a “now go plan” as we referred to in my last unit in Afghan.

only a gov‘t employee would say a 72 minute response time and 60 killed was a success

Funny u wrote that on Waco. I live close by and it’s funny I think 2 judges have excused themselves from this case. I think everybody knows that practically every shot came from the cops waiting outside.

I did an FAA search under his name and nothing came up. Tail number posted in an article came up to Volant.

There is an FR thread overnight linking to a post that made the connection to him or between him and Volant. Plus some discrepancies. An interesting consideration, maybe he has history with intelligence groups? Overall, so little shared about what his history is, his work, his travels, etc. Something incredibly missing to have this otherwise unremarkable 64 year old white guy going through such meticulous planning, maybe even an earlier attempt in September, to then carry out a so-far unattributed terrorist attack. I tend to believe he has connection with Islamic terrorists but with only their claim, that is still speculation.

I want to point out that this is the same group of police officers that Michael Bennett (Seahawks) is having such a hard time with.

I wonder whether the press is going to get a reaction from him about all of this before Sunday.

Big BLM idiot.

One sick individual walked around getting victims on video acting as a medical person. Horrific footage of dead and dying victims. He should be found and charged. When they turned off the lights, he was demanding they be turned back on. He could not get victims in camera due to no light.

A SWAT team would have to approach the situation like any military breach with very little useful information, having to assume it’s a large well armed group with hostages,an environment of stairwells and other choke points with plenty of space for booby traps. This was a learning experience for American law enforcement AND our enemies foreign and domestic.

Excellent. Is a situation of total and unforeseen chaos, it seems the first responders did a wonderful job. We are blessed to have them. (F the NFL)

He may have been a drunken fool, but he was searching for anyone sill alive and trying to limit their blood loss or get them to a hospital. He quickly moved away from the deceased. And he did find people who had been left for dead. No excuse for why he needed to keep his idiot camera rolling to document his helpfulness?

He clearly states that officers made it to his location at the 11 minute mark. That's about when he stopped firing on the crowd, and probably when he killed himself. They waited to breach the suite because he had already shot a security guard through the door, and he wasn't shooting out the window anymore.

The "72 minute response time" is BS media crap.
