SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — The mayor of Dr. Seuss' hometown fired back at a school librarian on Thursday who called the children's author's books "racist" and "cliche" in rejecting a donation of them from Melania Trump.
The comments of Cambridge Public Schools librarian Liz Phipps Soeiro were "political correctness at its worst," Springfield, Massachusetts, Mayor Domenic Sarno said in a statement.
"One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish, I think her comments stink and are ridiculous towards our beloved Dr. Seuss," he said.
Dr. Seuss, whose real name is Theodor Geisel, was born and raised in Springfield.....

Phipps Soerio is the librarian at affluent Cambridgeport school, Cambridge, Mass...she rejected Melania's gift of Dr Seuss books as "racist." This liberal sicko is apparently obsessed w/ virtue-signaling.....brainwashing the young privileged kids at Cambridgeport School that they're no patsy for conservatives.

Quick, somebody tell Michelle and Barack Obama...... who are frequently pictured reading Seuss books to kids.

Yes we do have to have an MLS, or MLIS, or whatever they call it now. I graduated back in the 80s when it meant more.
Obviously this particular person in question gives the rest of us a black eye.

Has anyone done what I did and substituted "Blacks" for "Green Eggs and Ham" in the Dr. Seuss Book "Green Eggs and Ham?"
"Green Eggs and Ham" is code for "Blacks" you know .... It's totally racist .......

Wonder why she’s still called a librarian. Schools have called them media specialists for decades, since the 70s. And schools don’t have libraries anymore either, they have media centers. Lastly, it hasnt been called library science since the 70s either. Its IP, Information Professional, in grad schools. Small diversion, now back to your regular programming....

I wish people would not knock the discipline of Library Science over the actions of one idiot librarian. The professor I had for my software engineering and information science classes (for my M.I.T. degree, Virginia Tech) had an MLS degree (as well as a Ph.D. in Comp Sci).
