At this point, most people don’t give a rat’s ass, as you put it, even if the cops go ISIS style de-herding. Either you support the cops or you wish them death. In many areaa, it is a battlefield for them.
I remember from growing up in Baltimore of all places. A cop once told me “don’t be messin’ with the pole-ese.” I always remembered that. You mess with the police you are taking your life in your own hands.
