Lay down with dogs, get up with fleas.
Resurrect Hermain Cain’s 9-9-9 plan!
If Trump defines wealthy as $250K and up, I’m done.
So, the people that pay the bulk of the income taxes and create most of the jobs will not receive a tax cut, or possibly see their rates go even higher than 39.6%?
How will this motivate the productive to create jobs?
At least bring back income averaging, which I think vanished during the Carter Administration. That way, middle class people who become wealthy through hard work and innovation will have their newly higher income spread out over their former “drought” years, their years of struggle.
All of that, in exchange for AMNESTY. And all of that will be for naught, once the Dem’s flood states like Florida, Georgia, Arizona, NC, SC, Tennessee, Kansas, to name a few, with millions of Democrat voters. Creating a Dem dynasty that will roll back all of the tax cuts and any spending cuts, finally destroying this country. The Democratic Party does not work with anyone. Hell, they don’t even work with themselves. But, the Republicans are a common enemy and they come together for that fight, just like muslims. The only outcome acceptable for the Dem’s is, they get what they want and you don’t get what you want. Hard to believe this president thinks he can outmaneuver them, especially when he doesn’t have support from his own “alleged” party.
While no means a policy maker or talking head, I’d be willing to bet that getting rid of the illegals will: lower peoples property taxes-which to me are more onerous than anything the IRS does, lower the spending that state and local governments are now burdened with, lower crime, lower the amount of money spent on welfare programs to undeserving people. All of that will put money in peoples pockets, just as much as an income tax cut. But, throw in some income tax cuts and that’s just gravy.
I really hope I’m wrong.
.
Total non-starter!
The “rich” are the upper middle class job creators. They deserve the biggest cut.
.
Well, corporations are obviously all entities like Exxon and GM and nothing at all like Joe’s Flower Stand or Jane Smith, CPA, so it’s impossible to convince any Democrat that lowering the rate to 15% helps the middle class. /s
I saw the Presser.
It is unfortunate, but dealing with Dims is necessary in order to get anything done.
As we all know, the Republican Party has multiple factions, and cannot come together as a UNIT on most issues.
So it’s either “Do nothing” or find a bipartisan coalition that can agree on a few things such as tax cuts for businesses and middle class.
BTW, a lot of the Wall Street types who are going to get tax increases due to closing of loopholes are ... Democrats.
But fear not. They will still make tons more money on the Trump tax-cut ECONOMIC BOOM.
A. I don’t care if the rich don’t get tax cuts. So they might not get to be super-rich instead of just rich. Cry me a river.
B. If “laying down with the dogs” is the only way to get anything done, then I’m glad to see it. Obviously, The Republicans in Congress have made it CRYSTAL clear that they have no interest in Trump’s agenda or success. If they’re pissed off because he’s meeting with Chuck ‘n’ Nancy - good. Maybe they can learn that failing to cooperate has consequences.
C. Not having tax cuts for the rich AND working the Schumer and Pelosi on taxes completely takes away the RATS’ ability to use their standard “tax cuts for the rich!” complaint. If they use it ANYWAY they’ll just look like fools.
I’m still waiting for President Trump to announce he’s going to meet with the Democrats to hammer out a new health care system for everyone. This will make the Republicans heads explode and bring them back to the table on repealing Obamacare AT ONCE.
I'd rather see them taxed at a lower rate on their gross. Watch how quick the expensive perks like country club memberships, gourmet meals at pricey restaurants and all the other tax write-offs would disappear. That would leave more money for REAL investments.
Repeal the 16th Amendment.
According to the IRS, about 30 percent of income taxes are paid by the “one percent” and almost 50 percent by the top 5 percent. Almost half pay nothing, and only 3.5 percent of the money is paid by the bottom 50 percent.
Trump has talked about raising taxes on “the rich” through targeted eliminations of certain maybe questionable deductions they take advantage of, such as doing away with the exemption on carry interest earned by people like hedgefund managers who have their own money in the business. There’s also talk of doing away with the federal tax deduction for state real estate and income tax paid, which is most beneficial to upper income earners who have the most to deduct - the pain this would inflict on lower income earners who also deduct these items would be mitigated by doubling the standard deduction, which would not only cover the lost deductions for real estate and state income taxes but would also make filing returns for many people much easier since they would have to keep fewer records and prepare fewer tax documents - such nibbling around the edges might not be so bad, even for “the rich”....
Income level Share of total federal individual income tax paid Average income tax bill per person Lowest 20% -2.2% -$643 Second lowest 20% -1.7% -$621 Middle income 4.2% $1,743 Second richest 20% 12.9% $6,285 Richest 20% 86.8% $50,176
The rich, such as Buffet, Gates, and Cuban, kept telling the msn that they wanted to pay more taxes, and they voted overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton, so sock it to them. Even the Fox News people gave most of their support to Clinton, so let them quit whining that they HAVE to have a tax cut. These are the Fat Cats who have made out like bandits during the Obama Depression. They don’t need any breaks now.
I’m OK with this for now.
I’d prefer a lower rate and getting rid of loopholes.
The rich don’t care about tax RATE because they don’t pay that anyway. Trump surely knows this.
But this is a step in the right direction.
I’d like to se a 1% tax bracket for lower income people (say anyone below $30,000. because I think everyone should have skin in the game. Nobody should have 0% tax or even rebates on no tax paid.
Levin claims the “rich” threshold Trump is speaking of is about $250 to $300K. Any truth in that?
If so, to hell with Trump as well.
That’s easier than cutting spending and the size of government........
How much will Trump supporters here take before it dawns on them what is going on?
