OK take a deep breath and ask God to correct your dyslexia.

Did Herod rule for 10 years? By what has been posted prior one must conclude the years are not a problem. Herod began ruling 1 year before Christ’s birth and completed his reign in 6 A.D.

The man who ruled Judaea, Samaria, and Idumaea from 4 B.C. to A.D. 6 was Archelaus, the son of Herod the Great. When Matthew refers to Archelaus he makes it clear that he is referring to the son of the man who tried to have Jesus killed.

Herod the Great was appointed king by Marc Antony and the Roman Senate in 40 B.C. (when the Parthians were in control) and captured Jerusalem in 37 B.C. So he reigned either 33 or 36 years depending on what you take as the starting point.

Archelaus was lucky--Herod had had 3 of his own sons executed. "Better to be Herod's pig than his son."
