No es como comienza, sino como termina.
"It is not how it begins, but how it ends." That's the rallying cry broadcast to their fans and the wider world by FENAFUTH, the Honduran soccer federation, this week via its Twitter account, ahead of a simply enormous World Cup qualifying clash with the United States that figures to have a huge influence on which of the two nations will reach Russia 2018.
This is the very definition of a "six-pointer," a match that both sides need to win, but neither can afford to lose. Los Catrachos and their yanqui visitors sit deadlocked in third place in the CONCACAF Hexagonal standings on 8 points apiece, separated only by the hefty goal-differential advantage the US national team built with their 6-0 thrashing of Honduras in San Jose, California back in March.
Tuesday's hosts may fancy their chances at revenge, given that they've turned San Pedro Sula into one of CONCACAF's most imposing away locales. A muggy afternoon kickoff under the tropical sun will crank the heat index up towards the triple-digits in Fahrenheit terms, while past occasions have seen a long, overgrown playing surface and large, loud crowds.

Ping!
USA! USA! USA! USA!
Got a feeling the best they’ll get is a point out of it.
Last night Germany blew away Norway 6-0. :)
Yeah, I saw Poland got back on track against Kazakhstan.
They need to beat Armenia, and hope Montenegro-Denmark play to a tie, and then they’ll clinch.
Football is a simple game..22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans win.
It’s in the language. A common exchange at the end of a conversation is alles klar (all is clear).
Apparently the pitch in Honduras is in poor condition. Wonder how this will affect the game?
I was really impressed with how Low used all young, second teamers in Russia and won the Confederations Cup a few months ago. That experience should pay huge dividends for them in the future and we’re already seeing some of those players moving up to first team status.
Could be a real bad affect. Maybe if we studied their heat maps we can find the ruts.
Is google down? Not loading for me anymore....

March, 2017, USA beat Honduras 6-0 as pointed out, so the Catarachos may want some revenge and we sure laid an egg the other day.
Spain 3 0 Italy this weekend.
Best teams, Germany and Brazil is back seemingly, actually number one FIFA team. I’d put Argentina with the elite.
I’ll have to see more of Spain. Colombia and Chile are very good teams but they can remain outsiders until they really get going at the world cup, could be underdogs.
France 0 0 Luxembourg over the weekend too.
My favorite heat map was the one for Steven Gerard after being sent off 48 seconds after entering for Liverpool against Manchester United.
I happy to see Italy get a yellow card in the third minute. That really put a crimp in their “style”.
Hated that we lost to Costa Rica (at home!!), but maybe it will wipe that arrogant smirk off of Arenas face.
Let’s hope we can get a result tonight. If so, I can’t see anyone catching us for third place. (Third place in CONCACAF....sheesh.)
“Id put Argentina with the elite.”
Potentially, but it’s possible they won’t even qualify.

Brazil #1; I’m not sure how they got that.
I think Iceland lost too over the weekend to Finland, so we will see where they end up. They host Ukraine today.
Poland won yesterday but got 4-0 by Denmark. Belgium has already qualified. Another team to watch if they can do it in a major tournament.
