“juvenile opinion”
Don’t just sit there!
Give us your expert, fact base comparison!
Of course it is. His whole blog is written by juveniles.
That, too, would just be opinion. Who wants to read that??
Step up to a REAL handgun, an HnK USP45. Put thousands of rounds through mine, not a single failure. Not one. Was at the range with it this past Saturday and was reliably hitting center mass with less than 1/4" difference between rounds at 45-50'.
People who know shoot HnK.
Yes, I'm an HnK bigot. :-)
One thing that surprised me was how difficult the 1911 is to disassemble/reassemble. The Sig is a snap. Maybe I'll check out a Sig in .45 now.
No, but only because there aren’t going the be any weapons at all in about seven years. :-)
The Colt 1911 was a good gun for its time. But it has long been superseded by many other guns.
The military has tried others but have gone back to the 1911 several times. I will take the 1911 over others as personal preference.
HK is my next sidearm. For now, the reliability of Glock and the discipline which comes with it meet my needs, defensively and economically.
Broke the grips of the p220 rolling over a barricade, never had anything like that with my 1911s. Disassembly lever froze on the p220 requiring smith tools to replace again, never had anything like that on a 1911. After a few 10ks of shooting the p220 now keyholes with cast ammo, again no similar problems with the 1911s.
I really want to like the p220 but it has been a source of repeated aggravation. But not to the point that I have sold it though.
I have three Sig 1911s, a Springfield 1911 RO Compact in 9mm AND a 220 SAS and I love ‘em all. Don’t give a nanosecond of thought to which is “best”.

Speaks for me. This is as silly as the caliber holy wars - if it's really that important, the speaker needs more practice.
Great guns. Personal opinions... well we know what comes next.
I carried many side arms for many years, some directed by my organization, others at my discretion. SIGs were the least useful to me. Why? Because I am a left handed shooter. A really good one ( used to be anyway, now I am over 55 and eyes are not the same). Maybe the new ones are ambi- but I won’t be looking at them anytime soon- I have learned the ones I have and they aren’t wearing out, so....
For the life of me I hated SIG M11s- how could I decock? Safely? I never figured it out, so I carried an M9 instead ( hate that one too BTW). Picked up an M1911A1, added an ambi safety lock and had lots of useful experiences with that one. A USMC issue gun BTW.
If you like the SIG, great, but don’t think any specific sidearm or long arm is any “better” compared to another well proven model.
Ford vs Chevy deja vu
Oh, Gaston is my buddy all day every day, John M on certain occasions and at home at night, Eugene and his brothers always at the ready.....
