WOW, I like this cover version of this Japanese Artist on Youtube better than Taylor's version.

Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do ( cover by J.Fla )

She needs to bring back her A-Game.

Drew68, this sounds more like a throw away song than a headline for an Album.

Not a worthy successor to "1989"

I’ve been waiting for this new album too. Now I’m worried it will all be too cool for school. I’m ok with her going through phases, I just want the writing to be genuine, the music to be good, and not artifice.

Perfectly said Yaelle, when Taylor switched to straight pop from country, I was apprehensive at best.

I was an original fan, going all the way back to 2006.

But "1989" turned out to be, as Drew68 said, the definitive album of Taylor's career.

The country stuff was catchy, I liked Red a lot, and I sincerely, truthfully believe that 1989 will be the definitive album of Swift's career. Like you said, there isn't a bad song on the album. Even the throwaways are good. And the good songs are absolute dynamite. The album as a whole is a towering musical achievement that stands should-to-shoulder with some of pop music's greatest releases.

You've released your career-defining masterpiece. How do you follow it up? The truth is, you can't.

And what I'm hearing underscores my point. The songs are ok but they're missing that spark of magic. She's still young, not yet 28, with good music in her future, but there will never be another 1989. Those career-defining albums don't happen twice.

What he said.

And as HonkyTonkMan said, she needs songs that show off her vocals. WITH actual melodies.

This sounds far too much like combo mid to late 2000's pop.

I hope she didn't dig up someone from that time and put them in charge of "Reputation"

LOL! On the Breitbart headlines.

I must have missed them.

The song itself isn't terrible, just not executed with the correct beat or proper cappella.

A shame.

Someone else said it... I don’t see how she doesn’t get sued for ripping off “I’m too sexy for my shirt.”

By giving the three members of Right Said Fred a co-writing credit (which means big fat checks every week from Big Machine Records).

I was going to blame producer Jack Antonoff, Swift BFF Lena Dunham's emasculated "sobbed when Hillary lost" pussy hat-wearing musician boyfriend but then I see that he produced some pretty good tracks on 1989.

I think the finger needs to be pointed at Swift herself who has been completely forthcoming that her next album would be largely hip-hop/EDM influenced.

So far, she's made good on this. Two songs now and I don't hear a single electric guitar anywhere, just synth beats.

I found “Red” in the car during my Midlife Crisis and played it a lot. Also Halestorm. It was a weird time ...

I will stick with real singers like Ella and Peggy, or even Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks and Deborah Harry.
