I've seen a lot of amazing pictures besides those listed here. But one that I thought was a bit humorous and unusual was this one:



Midwife riding an inflatable swan to get her and her supplies to a patient

She couldn't wade through the waters (some deeper than shown here) without contaminating her medical supplies. One of her patients was in labor, and there were no boats available nearby. But one of her neighbors had an inflatable swan.

There was a lady on the other side of the bayou during the hurricane who went into labor. She was 8 months along.

I tried to get to her house since I had a truck, but there was no freakin way I was getting over the bayou at that point.

I never found out what happened.
