The United Nations has raised a rare racism alarm in the US as it called on American President Donald Trump to ‘unequivocally’ condemn racist speech and crimes warning that failure to do so may give room to further violence.
The rare “early warning and urgent action” statement, which is reserved for serious situations, was issued by the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) on Wednesday.
Trump has been under constant condemnation after he blamed “both sides” for violence that broke out at a rally, organised by neo-Nazis and white supremacists, in Charlottesville, Virginia earlier this month.
Yesterday, security operatives in the city of Phoenix, Arizona had a torrid time coping with a crowd of people following clashes as police fired tear gas and stun grenades at protesters in Arizona who were demonstrating against Trump.
Reports say the incident occurred outside the downtown Phoenix Convention Center where Trump had just wrapped up his speech at a campaign-style rally for supporters- his first event since white supremacist violence in Charlottesville.
Police claimed protesters threw rocks and bottles at shielded officers, who were armed with batons as a cloudy haze enveloped the night sky with people fleeing the scene as protesters and police clashed.
Reports say Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton had unsuccessfully called on the president to not hold the rally so soon after the trouble in Charlottesville.
As the quarterly 2-billion-dollar payment day comes up (that the US pays it’s 8-billion dollars total for each year) for the UN...I’d skip it for six weeks, and then only pay one-billion. Then I’d let the UN know that when they pick and chose criticisms....they also have consequences, and the next quarterly payment might be a billion dollars short as well.
Funny how there were no “alarms” for whites in South Africa, whites in Zimbabwe, Christians in Syria, Christians in Iraq, Kurds in Turkey, etc.

I think you’re on to something here. But it might be best for the U.S. to skip all payments permanently. After all, why would the U.N. want racist money from a racist country?

As much as I hate the UN, I’m pretty sure I would hate them even more if we didn’t have a permanent seat at the table with permanent veto power over any UN resolution. Best to msintain the status quo.

Spikes your blood pressure, doesn’t it? These people need to take care of the human atrocities going on in their own countries, which makes anything going on here look like child’s play. The UN needs to go. They have been sickening for as long as I can remember. Why our government lets them come here and live like kings and rulers while their people perish, I do not know.

As we know, “racist speech and crimes” is defined by them, which is why they don’t accept Pres. Trump’s ‘unequivocal condemnation’ of all sides involved.
President Trump condemned the violence right away. What more do they want?
Would they have been satisfied if the president would have ordered gallows erected on the spot to execute everyone associated with any of the leftist groups who were there?
Or maybe he just should have stayed quiet and then celebrated the violence like Obama did?
Who here doesn’t imagine former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton making a phone call to the United Nations to make this happen?
