One of Donald Trump’s most generous political benefactors is providing a six-figure donation to a super PAC devoted to unseating Sen. Jeff Flake, an Arizona Republican who has been fiercely critical of the president.

Robert Mercer, a reclusive hedge fund billionaire who was intimately involved in Trump’s rise and helped to bankroll his 2016 campaign, is contributing $300,000 to a super PAC supporting former state Sen. Kelli Ward, who is challenging Flake in a Republican primary next year.

It’s the latest sign that Trump’s political machine is preparing to take on Flake, whose persistent attacks have angered the president. The White House has met with Ward and two other Republicans who are mulling primary challenges to the Arizona senator, state Treasurer Jeff DeWit and former state GOP Chairman Robert Graham.

2018 must be the year we eliminate the Amnesty Senators.

Corker, Hatch, Heller and Flake in 2018

Graham and Alexander in 2020

Murkowsky, Hoeven and Rubio in 2022

The liberal comments on politico are hilarious. I hope Flake does get primaried - I will happy to send his most likely challenger money (which looks to be Ward).

I didn’t see a link to the anti-Flake SuperPAC. If someone can post, I’d like to send in a few shekels to help get rid of him

Laura Ingraham has been talking about actively supporting Ward. Looking bleak for Flake.

Flake should be defeated in the primary. Initiating a notable campaign war chest now is a good way to jump start this effort.

The home state Republican parties for the likes of Collins, Flake, and Murkowski should be informed emphatically that they are going to be primaried, and if they’re not knocked out in the primaries a large part of the Republican base will stay home on general election day - that should give the party apparatus the choice of assisting in removing these under-cover-Democrats in the primary or losing the seat in the fall election - let’s see where they go.....

“The liberal comments on politico are hilarious.”

What are the libs on Politico saying? I have a couple of far-left friends whose FB posts about Flake have been scathing towards him. They are giving Flake ZERO credit for going after Trump.

With McCain not long for this world, and Flake being unpopular for having hitched his wagon to him, I would not be surprised to see him decide not to run in 2018. He can keep his book money and maybe whatever he has in the campaign coffers, and slink away.

No, you morons. 1 and only 1 don’t split the base. How many times does it take before we learn. Flake is making a direct appeal to the Rats to crossover. Splitting the base is how these traitors get in.
