Ken Starr: If Mueller Goes Beyond Russia, He’s Gone Too Far
NTK Network ^ | 4 August 2017

The former special prosecutor said that Mueller would exceed his mandate if he investigates issues beyond Russia.

Former Special Prosecutor Ken Starr said on CNN Friday that if Special Counsel Robert Mueller begins to investigate matters related to President Trump beyond Russia, then the former FBI director would exceed his mandate to investigate.

Host Alisyn Camerota asked Starr if Mueller would go too far if he investigates a hypothetical real estate deal with Russians in the 1990s.

“Well, Alisyn, you used the key word there, and you said ‘Russian,'” Starr said. “Does this relate to Russia’s activity?”

Starr said the Russian interference in the 2016 election was “unspeakably horrible,” but beyond that, “now the question is: was there collusion with the Trump campaign?”

“If the investigation goes beyond the Russian mandate, and they just say, ‘Let’s just look into the financing of Trump Tower, but there’s no Russian connection to it,’ then the argument is there, as I see it, that the investigation has gone too far,” he concluded.

Starr was the special prosecutor during the Clinton impeachment process.

But what about Hitlery’s collusion with Russia? I would think that would be front and center of any Russian collusion investigation.

Pay for play and collusion are pretty much the same thing.

I think Mueller’s charge is broad, but I think a court would say that there has got to be some nexus to Russia’s meddling in the election. If not, then Rosenstein turned the entire justice dept over to Mueller. I don’t think Rosenstein intended to do that, and even if he had, it would be unconstitutional. Only Trump can appoint an AG. Rosenstein cannot.

Why isn’t the “special counsel” law written so as to create one to address A SPECIFIC CRIME???

EVEN IF Trump and his people “colluded” with Russia it is STILL not a crime.

Where in the hell do they get off appointing a special counsel and tell him “go dig up whatever you can”

Kenneth Starr’s grandfather was in the OSS and founded AIG (the CIA backed insurance company).

If Kenneth Starr is saying anything against Mueller its just theater, imo. Starr is part of the deep state as well.

“Why hasn’t anyone kept Mueller in check?”

Sessions needs to fire Rosenstein, because he’s responsible for Mueller.

Hey Ken, maybe you should have focused more on what your Baylor football players were doing.

And who is going to stop him? The courts and the Court will support anything Mueller does and will support the unConconstitutional Congressional attempt to make Mueller unfirable.

Mueller should never have been appointed.
There was no crime to investigate.

The law that set up the Special Counsel specifies that there must be a crime to be investigated. This Special Counsel is illegally constituted and has no Constitutional right to exist.
