I’m a pragmatist and I keep fighting for the lesser of evils. When my country is at stake I don’t pontificate to feel virtuous.
We’re all pragmatists to an extent, but not at the expense of principles.
As the late Howard Phillips used to say, “Pragmatism doesn’t work.” He was talking about the kind of “pragmatism” that Republicans always sell, the kind that leads them to try to ram through a non-repeal of 0bamacare and tell us they’re standing up for us. The kind that says you have to support the Republican nominee no matter what, and any criticism means you’re working to elect the Democrats.
Which is just stupid.
