I agree, the series is somehow timeless. The leading character is somehow reminiscent of Gary Cooper. The scenery is grand and the town in which it is placed is so typical of Wyoming. I understand that it has become a tourist attraction much like Port Isaac has become an attraction as a result of Doc Martin.
The characterizations of all the characters are well drawn and the plots are sufficiently credible.
I too will regret when the series ends.

It is supposed to be Wyoming, but is actually filmed in New Mexico and Las Vegas, IIRC. I believe the in-town main street location is Vegas.

Doc Martin was a good series, too. Never got to see how it ended. Last I’d seen was her leaving the doc.
