A wind energy colleague once calculated the temperature drop caused by meeting the entire world’s energy needs with wind and removing all that energy from the atmosphere. I don’t remember his result, but it wasn’t trivial.

Somewhere I read that a windmill would never produce as much energy as it takes to build the windmill in the first place. Anyone else read that?
