Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said empty properties in the surrounding area of the Grenfell Tower should be requisitioned for victims of the fire.
A third of 5,321 adults said that they strongly support the proposal.

That’s awfully decent of those willing to take my property to give to another.
Just about any government has the innate power to ‘condemn’ private real property. Just so long as they pay fair market value for it.
unrestricted democracy
Sounds like “legalized” theft to me.
I’d like to see just ONE rolling poll of this question:
“Do you want to be given other people’s stuff?”
That would make most every other poll superfluous.
Simple rule, for every two people per residence you are granted 1 bedroom. Thus if you are single and have a two bedroom flat, you must make room for at least 3 displaced persons. No one person needs more than one bedroom. You might as well embrace full on socialism.
Well DUH!!! You wouldn’t expect a politician to be generous with anything of his own would you????
Let us start with Corbyn’s house first.
That is democracy—A totalitarian manifestation.
I have room for a massage therapist.
Any of those 59% jackasses going to lose THEIR property? Probably not.
Corbyn is talking confiscation without compensation. He is a hard core leftist. He almost won. I fear Britain is doomed!
I lived their in the seventies and it was a lovely place. Outside of London and the major metropolitian areas it still is. I still like London to only view its great museums. I desire nothing else in London, as it is no longer British.
In 1976 to 1979 I would have desired to live no where else in the world except London. That is no longer the case. London is lost and I fear Britain also.
We killed over 20,000 Brits to be free of it.
What if she looks like Hillary Clinton? I have room for a look alike Catherine Zeta Jones. :)
when you keep importing the third world this is what sells
1917 and the bolsheviks are on the rise
Time to watch Dr Zhivago again
Democracy always starts off as nice and the inherent ability of the masses to pick the pockets of the worker always dooms it. That is why we are a Republic and as Ben Franklin said, "if you can keep it."
I fear we are nearing the end of the grand experiment as a Republic Democracy and descending into the hell of pure democracy.
Just look at Venezuela. Their Republic is gone. They became a democracy and that became a totalitarian hell.
The Venezuelan Constitution was based on our United States Constitution. It was eroded and destroyed by the corruption of an ideological judiciary. We have an ideological judiciary in the Untied States. Our great Constitution is in danger.
