President Trump and his family will make their first visit to Camp David this weekend, according to the White House.
The first family heads to Camp David. Hoping everyone has a wonderful weekend, Stephanie Grisham, communications director for first lady Melania Trump, tweeted Friday evening.

Alerts of the presidents visit were issued by the federal government earlier this week, according to The Frederick News Post, which noted a Federal Aviation Administration notice being issued. Similar notifications were sent in March and May but didn't lead to a visit.
This is the first visit Trump will make as president to Camp David, which has served as a traditional country retreat for U.S. presidents. Since taking office, Trump has mostly opted to spend his weekends at his golf clubs in Florida and New Jersey.
Past presidents have used the Camp David retreat in Maryland for personal use as well as hosting foreign dignitaries. Leaders such as former U.K. Prime Ministers Winston Churchill and Tony Blair have been hosted, as well as Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Former President Jimmy Carter famously brokered the Camp David Accords between Egyptian President Anwar al-Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin.
If they are like what I saw of Florida, they spend all their time inside where it is airconditioned. Not exactly camping out or enjoying nature.
There is just a little bit of golf there now.
"There is no golf course at Camp David. There is a driving range near the helicopter landing zone and there is a single golf hole with multiple tees just outside the President's Aspen Lodge. Wanting to enjoy his favorite game at Camp David, President Eisenhower asked golf architect Robert Trent Jones to design a golf hole modeled after greens at his favorites golf courses: Augusta National and Burning Tree."
Don’t let those two clowns any where near Camp David.
Great FReepers like you make it more than worth it :)
The Donald will be making a mental list of all the improvements that will need to be made. God bless him! Hope Barron has fun! And Melania can remember her childhood campouts in a poor soviet block nation.
My other question is, does anyone know if that rumored mega-mosque that applied to be built close to Camp David has been okayed or is under construction?
Who are they?
No invite for Tiffany?
And if you think the Trumps didn’t have “help” previously...
But I’d like to see them take an unexpected liking to it, especially Barron. It could even be renamed “Fort Barron” or whatever.
And it should be a conservatives-only retreat. No liberal family members there trying to influence Trump on the weekends!
Yes! All the Trump golf courses are in air conditioned buildings. Thought everyone knew that.
that is Andy Card. i don’t know about the mosque
Probably a lot more bugs in Maralago this time of year than central Maryland. I’ve done a lot of hiking around Cunningham Falls and Catoctin Mountain parks ... not very buggy.
i read that there might be mice who appear on the property. that could be exciting. ahem
Totally agree, this is the most excellent suggestion...provided the American electorate doesn’t elect another evil Traitor who would saturate with bugging devices, the house and woods there too!
Is the cabin at Camp David air-conditioned?
Camp David Activities
Camp David is a rustic getaway in a wooded setting with lots of outdoor and indoor activities available. One of the most fun aspects of Camp David is that guests are given golf carts as their main mode of transportation around the retreat.
There are tennis courts, horseshoe pits, a swimming pool, skeet range, nearby fishing and horseback riding. There is a golf driving range near the helicopter landing zone and a single golf hole with multiple tee boxes outside Aspen Lodge.
You can go bowling, watch movies, work out at the fitness center, play basketball, and shoot some pool. Meandering hilly trails are ideal for long walks and bike rides. In the winter, you can go cross-country skiing, sledding, ice skating and snowmobiling. There is also the Evergreen Chapel, a non-denominational place of worship.

I think that is Andy Card in the picture.
I can’t believe how close Barron is already to his dad’s height. He’s going to be a tall man...
