FACTS ON FILE: (A) Comey cleared Trump of everything in his testimony before Congress (and earlier). (B) Mueller helped Comey prepare for senate hearing (hat tip zunjitsuman).
Ergo, that is (C) collusion....and, (D) abusing public office for wrongdoing.

Yep, Trump firing Comey would not be any easy solution to these problems.

If it becomes necessary to fire Mueller, Trump will be attacked for stopping the investigation, even if Mueller's replacement is the finest human being on the planet. That would be true whether Trump fired him now or later. But by at least waiting, Trump can judge whether Mueller is going to be an honest counsel or a partisan hack.
