Most people have no idea of the real value of vehicle ownership and operating costs. In time, like in the competitive passenger lift market, this will get down to compensation levels which are very marginal. It’s like the kid down our street who delivers pizzas in a Mercedes SUV (his father’s.) That is probably not a net positive venture, unless tips for pizza delivery are much more generous than I can imagine.
For many who are unemployed or underemployed, this might be a possibility to make some money. They may not get rich, but at least they may get income.
And for those needing large items moved (at a more reasonable price than moving companies demand), this could be a real blessing.
So, I really see it as a good idea.
