In a clan/tribe society, that's actually the only thing that would work. At least, expel the entire clan for any wrong-doing. It gives an incentive for family members to discourage extremism.

She's actually one of the most sensible people in the business. She didn't let the industry get to her as it did to so many porn stars. I watched an interview with her once where she talked about her life. Then, when the interview was complete, some instrumental music came on and the lights dimmed.
