My college advisor told me to my face, “You have to get them young.”
“Only the foolish or ignorant send their children into the socialist government school environment.”
—
Guess I’m foolish and ignorant,then,
My five great “kids”,now in their fifties, will get quite a kick out of that when I see them all on Sunday.
.
I thank God my son was/is a strong-willed child so they didn’t get to him. After graduation he joined the Corps and after getting out he became a welder.
If you all like government schooling, your children will absolutely love government health care. it will be just fine.
Yes, you are ignorant or a fool. Your participation in a system (and worse, encouragement of others to do the same) which has an 80-90% success rate in converting Christians to secular humanism demonstrates that.
If you say so——but what makes you assume that we are,or were,Christians????
.
.
People who say public schools are failing are wrong. This is EXACTLY what they were designed for!
I don’t know what’s worse - the public school worshipers, or the “conservatives” who think schools were better in the good old days.
I assumed that you are not Christian. Even if you aren’t, you have a stake in protecting Christianity, under which tradition we all have religious liberty. My comments with respect to Barna surveys are directed at fellow Christians
So the public schools are pushing Communist mind control techniques and Zen Buddhism. Sound absurd? Read on...
After the very expensive failure of the “Tools of the Mind” program (Vygotsky Theory — has its origins in post revolution Russia — yes, the Soviet Union social and mind control) which was absurd from the get-go for all thinking folks, they now want to now teach and train the kids in “Mindfulness.”
Mindfulness has its origins in Buddhism with meditation and being in the “here and now.” It is supposed to help the students focus. Not certain if the kiddos will be chanting mantras and humming but it is very possible.
All the while, the public schools drive out any hint of Christian faith and people are not even allowed to utter Merry Christmas.
My parents were mostly secular and I learned all of the religious Christmas songs (Silent Night, the Dradel Song, etc.) by singing them at the Christmas concert.
Now, you'd be handcuffed and escorted out of the school if you insisted in uttering Merry Christmas.
Bach wrote many “religious” songs and my High School choir sang all of them. Now, since the songs are “religious” they would be banned.
As a secular kid, my parents didn't seem to mind and they actually enjoyed the celebrations.
You’re right. Putting children in government school isn’t abuse....it’s neglect.
True. Parents shouldn’t fear government schools. They should simply care more about their kids. And their tax dollars. And their time spent trying to unteach what the government schools teach.
In the end, “free” government schools are extremely expensive for all involved.
