1) Sweet Jane-Lou Reed 2) Theme from Shaft-Issac 3) Mellankamp-I need a Lover. Any others?
Stand By Me , Ben King ...song and movie title.
This would be a great opening movie song.
Ella Henderson - Hold On, We’re Going Home / Love Me Again

What a voice!
“Hello. I’m Johnny Cash.”
That's the Tops!
He even started into "As Time Goes By" for a moment.
Pretty good also!
Just for fun:

John Prine, “That’s The Way That The World Goes Round”
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Animal version of Sweet Jane is one of the best.
Hey Hey My My - Neil Young (from Rust Never Sleeps)
Long Red - Mountain (The Road Goes Ever On)
Planet Claire - the B-52’s
2112 - Rush
A Whiter Shade of Pale - Procol Harum
All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix
Karn Evil 9 - Emerson Lake & Palmer
Even though this lyric was presented in the middle of a song, it technically BEGAN a song.
I know...it's complicated.
Okay, but that's not a musical intro to the song. That's what this thread is about. Other than that, what do you like as a musical intro?
Just Got Paid - ZZ Top
Questions 67 and 68 - Chicago
I didn’t read all the threads so these may have been mentioned already:
“Billie Jean” - Michael Jackson
“Been Caught Stealing” - Jane’s Addiction
“I’m Your Boogie Man” - K.C. and the Sunshine Band
“Monkey Man” and “Brown Sugar” - The Rolling Stones
“Save it for Later” - English Beat
No, the piano intro to "Firth of Fifth" - an upbeat Bb major arpeggiated chord sort of thing with changing time signatures.
I’d also vote for Steve Hackett’s intro to “Blood on the Rooftops.”
bfl
How about the piano intro for “Does Anybody Really Know What Time it Is?”
Rooftops...another good one.
The snare shot at the beginning of Like A Rolling Stone is still kind of amazing.
Jay-Z has kind of made a career out of great intros. The remix of Mundian to Bach by Panjabi MC. Of course, Crazy in Love. Crazy in Love is so great the first time I heard it I nearly wrecked my car (though his rap in the middle is kind of bleh). He’s also been great at intros - back to “Don’t Knock the Hustle.”
