"Eagles - Hotel California"
Beautiful intro. Very similar to Gimme Shelter but with more flow. Don Henley does the same bang bang on the drums as Watts did to bring in the song. It is melodic genius.

I can’t believe y’all left out “Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Swede.
To: Cboldt

One of my favorites is the introduction to
Half a Moon by Nat Shilkret & the Victor Orchestra. After a brief fanfare, a piano plays for eight measures before being joined by the full orchestra. The song was a big hit and is among my favorites.

"Nights in White Satin,"
Yes, a very haunting intro that goes on and on and is practically a song in itself without the following verses.

ELO - El Dorado Overture that leads into “Can’t Get It Out of My Head.”

Or another one from ELO, “Tightrope.”

Yes, Funk #69. Great guitar and drums. Used to listen to them all the time back when.

Ialso like the beginning of
Dream a Little Dream of Me by Wayne King. Following a brief four-measure introduction on a piano, a tenor saxophone plays the melody, accompanied by a clarinet playing a counter-melody. This song went to number one.

HELLS BELLS !! What an uplifting tune! And it was a big hit.
Bells ringing from the rafter;
Bells beckoning hereafter.
All is forsaken when toll is taken.
Hell's bells ringing in my ear.
