It’s not very likely. You don’t lightly prosecute people in those positions or no one worthy will take the job.
Bad judgement isn’t treason.
Bad policy isn’t treason.
Lying and coverup isn’t treason, though may certainly be criminal.
Gun running is probably illegal, if you can prove it. But even that doesn’t rise to Treason.
The best thing to do is let the truth come out. That will shame them and destroy any legacy they hoped to have.
And then extradite them to Egypt. Problem solved!!
The "aid and comfort" prong of treason has been interpreted
by SCOTUS as requiring proof of four elements:
1. an intent to betray the United States (which can be inferred from);
2. an overt act;
3. witnessed by two people; and
4. that provides aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States.
