From what I gather, the whole “pre-existing condition” debacle is really just a short-term (60 days?) reasonable-cost (X% of normal coverage?) speed bump to encourage people to _stay_ insured without completely screwing them over if they’re not (i.e.: situational break in coverage).
NOBODY is addressing what the bill _actually_ says about pre-existing conditions, they’re just making it out as the worst thing evar.
