Belief is an act, whether one believes in God or believes in no God. The belief in no God has been given enormous support by politucians and academics and the media. It HAS been promoting one body of beliefs to the detriment of all others.
It depends on whether you are saying that you do not believe there is a God, or whether you are saying that you believe there is no God. Two different things. Saying that you believe there is no God is an affirmative statement which then requires some proof, which cannot be provided. Saying that you do not believe in God is just saying that you don't 'know' one way or another, which really just puts you in the same category as the people who do believe in God. Saying 'prove it to me' is just another way or saying 'make be believe it'. You can't prove something to someone who refuses to believe, and you have already 'proven' it to people who do believe.
