LOS ANGELES (AP) Carol Burnett typically spends her mornings doing crossword puzzles with her husband, but the comedy legend could return to a full-time work schedule if the pilot she recently shot for ABC becomes a regular series.
In Household Name, produced by Amy Poehler, Burnett plays an eccentric, aging movie star who arranged to continue living in her old mansion even though the homes new owners, a young family, have already moved in....

[[I cant think of Carol Burnett, without thinking of Tim Conways Elephant Story. ]]
I can’t think of the show without him- Yes Carrol was funny, as were the other cast members- but Tim carried the show much further than it would have gone without him- it all of them together were the perfect cast- just like all of the barones are the perfect cast in everybody loves ramond
Tim Conway was a master at improve- such a quick whit- saw him on some talk shows- was absolutely hilarious- a comedic genius
Yet I would wager than Harvey still can't keep a straight face if Tim is around. Loved that show and its spontaneity and freedom to ad-lib was a large reason for their success.
Mel Brooks himself once said that he couldn’t make “Blazing Saddles” today.
The “n” word was said a dozen times in that movie.
May I ask what movie is the first most hilarious movie you’ve ever seen?

His son inherited his humor. Listen to him every night I’m in the car. He has nearly caused me to run my vehicle over a cliff.
TIM CONWAY IS NOT DEAD!!!
The “Elephant Story” was improv. I recall an Anniversary show where the cast was brought together and they were talking about it. They said Tim was always doing improv to try to crack the others up.
I’m probably messing up the story, but iirc they would do two shows in front of the audience - maybe a live rehearsal and then the televised show?
And they have to stick to a schedule for the commercials and all the other stuff. In the live rehearsal Tim didn’t do the Elephant Story. In the televised one he did - and the clock is ticking. And the others are trying to keep a straight face, and some are getting pissed and anxious about the time. I think that is when the one actress tells Tim to just shut up, and I think someone else shoves him off the couch?
Another of my favorites is when he is trying to give Korman the shot in the dentist’s chair but keeps sticking himself and numbing his leg, etc.
Korman peed his pants and had to stay in the chair until a break was called (all live!)
I loved Carol’s shows back in the 70’s and maybe 80’s, but I doubt if her brand of humor has mass appeal these days. If her brand of humor catches on, which would be great, I suspect the chances are greater if the star of the show was younger. Red Skelton and Red Buttons were very different kinds of comics, but they appealed to a certain group of generations who had experienced the similar events during their own lifetime.
I could be completely wrong. Donald Trump broke all the rules about how a 69 to 70 year old man is supposed to behave in public. Uncommon precedents are being set these days. Maybe there will be a sufficient audience for Carol and her comic team.
She’s too old. Old people aren’t funny
And the “n” word is beeped out when Blazing is on TV. GD is ok though. True
Could be good with decent writers
Not really
Tim will be shocked to hear he is deceased
Then you know that Tim Sr is alive and well. Jr mwntions having dinner with him iften
No one knows if it will be a disappointment. Contempt prior to investigation
Says you
Golden Girls
You’re right but her style humor and performaces at age 40 cannot be recreated at age 80. This is like comparing the film Rocky to Rocky II, III, IV, V, VI, VII and so on...
