You sound like the future version of my seventeen year old. He’s wanted to go into the military since he was quite young. But asthma. He’s been in the local Police Explorers for a few years and just returned from a conference/skills competition. It confirmed just how much he wants to go into law enforcement.
I wonder what his view will be in a couple of decades.
Private security?
It’s not a horrible way to earn a living. I’ve met a lot of wonderful people doing my job. But it takes a smart person to realize when the stress is getting to you, and finding positive ways to deal with it. Took me a little while longer than it should’ve. Had to get past the “macho badass” stuff first.
