That’s not the issue (geology majors), the article says geology majors are given first preference. Anyway, it certainly does not sound like the kind of course that would be required of majors. It is an elective. But discrimination on the basis of race/background is still unwarranted discrimination, even if it is applied after the geology majors have been accommodated.

I am in complete agreement with your point.
There is no place for discrimination in colleges when it comes to taking courses.
